About
Ben has over 20 years of experience practicing law, for the majority of which he has specialized in government affairs. He has practiced law at several firms, clerked for the Chief U.S. District Court Judge for the Southern District of Alabama, and served in-house as a multi-state governmental affairs professional on behalf of a national, publicly traded company. He is experienced at influencing and interpreting legislation and working with government officials, corporate team members, employees of competing businesses, and other outside counsel.
He serves on the Board of Trustees of the National Association of State Lobbyists, is on the Board of Illinois’ Business and Industry Federation of Economic Concern, and is active with the State Government Affairs Council. Ben also previously completed SGAC’s Professional Certificate Program, which is the only program designed specifically for state government affairs professionals. He also serves as an elected Commissioner of the Kenilworth Park District. On a pro bono basis, he serves on the Policy and Government Affairs Committee of the Chicago Children’s Advocacy Center. This nonprofit organization coordinates the efforts of child protection staff, law enforcement, family advocates, medical experts, and mental health clinicians under one roof on behalf of victims of child sexual abuse.
Ben holds a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from the University of Michigan and a law degree from the University of Notre Dame, where he graduated cum laude.
